Your Mouth – The Key To Overall Wellbeing

When there is dysfunction with the mouth, problems like snoring, digestive issues, dental issues and speech clarity can arise. Myofunctional therapy and speech therapy focus on training the muscles of the mouth, tongue, and face to function at their best, improving everything from breathing to eating, sleeping, and talking.

When your mouth isn’t working as it should, problems like snoring, digestive issues, dental issues, and speech clarity can arise. Talk Shop addresses these issues at their root, creating lasting changes that enhance overall health.

Julie Ernest, MS, CCC/SLP

Speech Language Pathologist
Orofacial Myologist

Hi, I’m Julie, a speech pathologist and myofunctional therapist passionate about helping children find their voice. Through my practice, I've been continually amazed by how oral dysfunction impacts multiple aspects of health and development. I received my master's in communication disorders and speech pathology from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Having spent most of my career in private practice working with children and adults in outpatient clinics, I specialize in oral motor apraxia of speech and feeding and swallowing disorders. As a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), I was honored to receive an ACE award in April 2022. I completed my orofacial myofunctional training in 2022, complementing my extensive background in oral motor and feeding therapies. When I'm not working, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and playing with my dogs.
